Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the backbone of ODIS.
Salem Schools Legal Clinics - work with Salem Schools to provide access to legal services for families who have immigration questions.
Do you speak Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or Arabic?
Are you available Thursdays anytime between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm? Don’t need to commit to every clinic.
Translators - do you speak a language in addition to English? We always need translators to assist with client work and translate documents, especially Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese.
Client outreach - get the word out to our immigrant neighbors about the availability of our legal services by distributing information to designated community locations.
Special events - assist with outreach events (e.g Bevely Main Streets’ Halloween and other community events on the North Shore) and fundraising events (set up and take down, distributing information, mailings, than you follow ups, etc.).
Newsletter and outreach material graphic design and production - assist with writing and designing of client and community outreach materials (e.g. monthly newsletter, community handouts, visuals for events).
Become a Department of Justice Accredited Representative to provide direct legal services - ODIS will guide you through a recognized 40-hour basic immigration law program, additional webinars, 40-hours of shadowing, and successfully applying for recognition.
